Our Club
Our History
Built From Brotherhood. Driven By A Standard.
Estudiantes FC was founded in 2021 in Herndon, Virginia, from a brotherhood of players who shared a passion for soccer, a competitive mentality, and a desire to continue representing the game at a high level.
The foundation of Estudiantes FC was built by players with varsity-level experience and above who believed soccer was more than just a sport. It was a connection between friends, a commitment to improvement, and an opportunity to compete with purpose.
Many of these players came from humble backgrounds. They did not begin with the same resources as established organizations. There was no dedicated field, no large staff, and no extensive infrastructure. What they had was something that could not be bought: trust, chemistry, talent, and a shared standard.
That belief became the foundation of Estudiantes FC.

The Beginning Of The Estudiantes FC Identity
A Name Earned Through Competition
The Estudiantes FC name was established through competition. When the club entered a tournament hosted by Major League Soccer, the team represented the Estudiantes FC name and achieved success against quality competition.
That achievement helped create the identity of the club. Estudiantes FC was no longer just a group of friends playing soccer — it became a representation of commitment, pride, and the desire to compete.
The club’s identity was built around five principles:
- Brotherhood
- Discipline
- Commitment
- Competitive mentality
- Respect for the game
The badge represented the players who built it and the responsibility of everyone who would wear it afterward.
The Red & Black Legacy
More Than A Jersey
From the beginning, the red and black jersey represented the journey of Estudiantes FC.
Before the club had the resources, facilities, and structure it has today, it had an identity. Those colors represented the sacrifices made by the original players and the belief that something special could be built through commitment and unity.
The red and black jersey continues to represent where Estudiantes FC came from and the standard every player is expected to carry forward.

Growing Through Competition
Earning Respect
Estudiantes FC entered adult competition with a foundation built around talented players, experienced athletes, and a strong competitive mentality.
The club continued competing in leagues throughout Northern Virginia, facing established programs and earning respect through performance and consistency.
As the quality of Estudiantes FC players became recognized, other teams began showing interest in recruiting players from the club. Instead of losing the identity that had been built, Estudiantes FC strengthened its commitment, expanded its competitive opportunities, and continued growing.
The club became known for developing an environment where talented players could compete, improve, and challenge themselves.

From Competition To Development
Expanding The Mission
The success of Estudiantes FC created a new opportunity: developing the next generation of players.
After identifying young talent within the club environment, Estudiantes FC expanded its mission by creating its youth development division.
The purpose was not simply to create another youth program. The goal was to provide players with the same foundation that built the club: a competitive environment, strong standards, and the opportunity to improve.
The youth pathway focuses primarily on players between U13-U19, the critical years where athletes can develop the technical, tactical, physical, and mental qualities needed for higher levels of soccer.
International Recognition
A Vision Beyond Northern Virginia
The development of Estudiantes FC youth players opened new opportunities and brought international recognition to the club.
Through experiences in Santos, Brazil, young Estudiantes FC players gained exposure to coaches and scouts who recognized their ability and potential.
The work being done by Estudiantes FC was respected, creating the foundation for a relationship with Santos FC and the Meninos da Vila Academy pathway at Estudiantes FC.
This reinforced the club’s belief that talent exists everywhere when players are given the right environment and opportunity.
